PEP RALLY SURVEY RESULTS: 155 Student
participated.
Would you like to have Pep Rallies at
PHS?

Comments:
Your pep rallies are borring. Why make everyone sit and listen to
announcements when they can just listen to them on the intercom
because they are boring and dont really have any excitement to them..
i think personally. it needs more school spirit and class involvement
added to them
No if they faculty is going to be the one organing the entire pep rally.
Pep rallies are for the students so they should be what the students
want. that is the true way to be build up school spirit.
cos i already said soooo
"I think the school should start a step-team and then have pep
rallies!!!! The cheerleaders arn't that preppy."
i think that we should not have Pep Rallies. They take up to much
time of class, and itis a bad way to use up our class time. We don't
come here to have fun we come to school to learn. Pep rallies are
something that little kids do, and we are not kids anymore but young
ladys. So my answer is no i think we should not have Pep Rallies.
the pep rallies are short and boring anyways
"I do not think PHS should have Pep Rallies, only because they took
to much time up.
"
they should involve the student body and they should be fun. maybe
consider the pep rallies like at holy cross
I think that pep rallies only bring the school together. This gives the
students some pride in our school.
I think this should happen soon. I dont see why the school took them
away. That just shows that the school lacks school spirit.
I think we should ahve pep rally because it gives us a time to be
together as a school and also with our class.
yes i think we should...we need to have pep rallies! its so much fun!
Students should have limits in what they can and cannot do. Studnts
should learn when to be quiet!
because we should do much more activities for advertisment also, we need
to show our spirit.
I guess it would be ok.
yes we should because it might just put some life back into our
school. we seem so dead. it's not fun. catholic schools week could have
been a whole lot better like it was last year.this year it was just
horrible nobody wanted to do anything because the administration took
all the fun out of it.
I really think we should have pep rallies....there really fun and
they give us a time to honor those who have accomplishe many thing and
show them our spirit....i really think we should have them.
YES to pep Rallies!!! High school years are said to be the best years of
our life and w/out pep Rallies where is our school spirt. I went to
Providence because i THOUGHT this school had great school spirt and it
did but that was last year. Last year our pep rallies were like 30min
and We had one at least every quarter. This year our Pep rallie was ONLY
15 min. and We have only had ONE. I hope next year we will have Pep
rallies because this year was really Boring!
pep rallies are tradition they go aroung in all schools it would stupid
to take that away. at least thats what the students think. all we do is
sit in classes and do work and when it comes to having fun its
unexceptable. we need to have fun. we grow closer to eachother and pep
rallies become memories. and you may not think so but when we cheer for
our teams they actually do alot better than without cheering for them.
the old days were fun now this school is nothing but boring. bristol has
turned this school into her own little thing and has forgotten what the
students want. and there are teachers as well who get into pep rallies.
this is an event that should never leave providence no matter what. and
the kind of pep rallies im talking about are the ones when we get to
dress up and cheer without your permission. the ones when everybody
feels comfortable when screaming their lungs out for the spiirt stick.
so that way they have someting to talk about the next few days. don't
take it away.
The only thing separating a school from a prison are pep
rallies.......and books. Yeah, books are cool. GO BOOKS GO!
We should have pep rallies because they are fun and an excuse to get out
of class!
I think it a good idea that we have pep rallys
We don't have enough of them.
I think that we should have pep rallies because we need to show more
school spirit. I think that the pep rallies should be well organized and
exciting so everybody could have a great time.
Pep rallies are the best part of high school.
Pep rallies are a good way to celebrate our school spirit. At pep
rallies it peps the athletes up for game day.
I think we should have pep rallies because they encourage school pirde
and lift our spirits.
"BECAUSE THEY BUILD OUR SCHOOL SPIRIT
GO PROVETS!!! :)"
PROVIDENCE HIGH SCHOOL SHOULD ALLOW ALL CLASSES PARTICIPATE IN
PEPRALLIES. FOR EXAMPLE BANNER COMPETIONS AND MOST SPIRITED COMPETIONS.
PEP RALLIES WOULD BE NICE DURING ANY DISTRICT SPORTS IT WOULD MAKE OUR
SCHOOL MORE SUPPORTIVE OF ALL TALENTED ATHLIETS THAT SHOW THEIR HARD
WORK IN THEIR ACADEMICS AS WELL AS ATHLETICS.
I think that we should have Pep Rallies. Because its a good way to get
the school invovled. These pep rallies that we have right now like that
recongition is really gay. I'm sorry because I think if your gonna
support any team and only gonna have one, you should do all the
supports. But our is making are school no fun, and pep rallies are the
only things we have close to fun.
Yes I do think that PHS should have pep rallies. It makes the team feel
more supportive and know that they are doing some good for the school.
By having a pep rallies it brings our confidence up and at the sametime
having a good time. A pep rally is something that everybody looks
forward to and having fun. It's also a way to show our school spirit or
how much we do by either being part of a team or being with our friends.
Most important pep rallies are memories part of our high school life,
something we will remember and never forget and that is unreplacable!!
Pep Rallies bring school spirit to our school and it is a chance to
recongnize all the students that participate in sports. It gives the
students who are unable to come to games show their school spirit and
not only show our school spirit at games.
I think the school should bring back pep rallies, because last year i
enjoyed going, and now the year seems boring without them.
I think we should have pep rallies because it builds up school spirit
and sets us apart from other schools. In talking to other student from
different schools they have said to me that they like the way our school
has so much school spirit, but we can't have any if no one can express
the spirit at some time besides games.
to me having apeprally would brighten my day i hate not having a
peprally it bad. i think we should have peprally it shows that we have
spirit in our school, faith in or athletic teams, and moments when we
dont have to stress about school.
It is a fun event that all should experience!!!
Yes we should have pep rallies but they should be real ones like the
kind that they have at public schools with the band, sports teams,
jokes, skits, and other fun stuff. They should be less about the class
and more about the school. We don't have school spirt and I wonder why?
Wouldn't take that much work to put together a few good things!
it gives us a chance to scream after having a hard couple of weeks of
school and we won't get into trouble for screaming
All schools have pep rallies and our rallies instill unity, friendly
competion, and school wide pride.
We often have few things to look foward to during each week. Pep Rallies
would definitely bring more school spirit (even to the junior class).
I think we should have pep rallies because it really gets the school
pumped up. As an athlete, I know that having pep rallies the day of a
big game helps get me pumped up and ready to play.
its just not highschool if you dont have pep rallies. There fun and show
how much spirit phs has
we should make them more fun with music & contests
yes.the last pep-rally that we just had was very different.pep
rallies are about showing who has the most spirit, and which class is
the rowdest
I think PHS should have more pep rallies, because we will have more
spirit and faith in our athliets.
Our pep rallies should be longer too. Not half an hour or 15 minutes. We
should be able to yell and everything as much as we want to without the
teachers always getting after us for being too loud. That is the whole
point of a pep rally. The pep rallies shouldn't just be for sports. We
should have a pep rally once a month.
because i believe that i brings the students and faculty closer together
and it shows our pride in being students or athletes here at Providence.
we are able to work together as classes.
i think we should it will boost moral. people well know whats going on
and support the school more.
I think we should have Pep Rallies because they help us come together as
a school, and they make the sports teams feel like the school is behind
us.
"its the only way the whole school is going to come together.
Without them the school gets kind of boring and we dont get to interact
as much as a student body. I didnt like the way this last
""pep rally"" was held. it was too boring and it
lost attetion of the students way to fast. Its a fun way to in a way
challange other classes but not hold a grudge. it lets us show our
school spirit"
I think that we should have pep rallies because it brings the school
together and helps us support our teams.
How are we supposed to have school spirit? Duhhhhhhh
I think that we should have pep rallies because it is a great time to
have fun and cheer for our fellow school members for their
accomplishments. This is my first year here and I would like to see
something fun going on in this school. I play sports and I would like
people to gather together to cheer me and the team on.
I think we should have pep rallies but they should be more exciting
because they are a real bore.
yes because it will help us be hapoy about coming to Providence. it
helps the athletes be pepared and have faith in themselves if other
around them believe in them .
"i think that we should have pep rallies, they show our unity, our
part as a whole providence, supporting all those who defend its name.
but, i do think that the recognition should be academic wise as well
athletic, both uphold providence's name and both deserved to be honored
or awarded for it And besides, pep rallies are the only true time that
we can be ""truly"" providence, when we can
""truly"" show our true colors of providence; as
Seniors, juniors, sophmores and freshman. to take that away is to take
away what is providence. "
yes, but not providence's idea of a pep rally, how about a real pep
rally with players/classes that show enthusiasm and real things other
good schools do for pep rallies. Why do WE always have to adjust to
CCHS's schedule, not them to ours? Why can't seniors just leave school
early instead of doing bogus crap? How about we don't waste our time on
recognizing people too. That is why there is an awards ceremony at the
end of the school year. That last thing we had, was completely useless
and wasted time I needed in my last period. I wouldn't mind if we had
pep rallies, but providence's idea of a pep rally is stupid in all
aspects of the word.
We should because it pumps and wakes us up. It also takes us out of
class. Which is fun and why i like pep rallies.
I believe that we should have Pep Rallies because it is a way for us
to show what we can do, to show our class pride. We should also be the
ones to make the posters for our own classes so we can show how we stand
out and make our class known for something. Plus the last event that we
had was different and good because it showed people that we don't really
shine some light on, but when we were told not to sit on the two bottom
rows that wasn't too smart.
Pep rallies teach a healthy competive drive, and support unity in the
grade. Please, oh please give them back!
OUR PEP RALLIES SHOULOD BE MORE FUN. WE SHOULDN'T JUST STAND OUTSIDE OR
JUST SIT IN THE GYM.
yes because the goal for the juniors is to win a pep rally before we
graduate, and now we have no goal
but can't we have some with our brother school central
i think pep rallies are great. It helps relax us after a long week of
hard work. It gives us time to have fun and forget about work for those
30 minutes. Pep rallies also give a sports team motivation and lets them
know that their peers support them.
Having a pep rally allows students to interact with eachother in a way
other than that which we experience in class. It also gives us a chance
to recognize the students who help give Providence a good name.
I think they should have a theme though. And that games between classes
should be involved.
YES!!!
YES! YES! YES!
i think they are very fun and it gets all the students very excited
about coming to school and it will even bring more girls out to games.
yes, were girls we need motivation and we have no fun events and no
spirit at this school! This school is so strict its crazy! Like, when we
have free dress we like get a list of what we can't wear and basically
thats everything! This schoool needs to take a chill pill like FOR REAL!
We need things on our lockers in the hallways and we just need light and
color in this school. We're an all girls school but we end up
representing ourselves as an all BOYS school! We need to loosen up
SERIOUSLY! everything is so uptight and strict everyone will soon break!
We barely have free dress and when we do its all filled with resrictions!
We need fun and more pep rallies to brighten up the girls! Everyone here
looks like a zombie!
But they need to be fun and interesting they have been really boring.
I THINK WE SHOULD BECAUSE THATS IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT MAKES SCHOOL
WHAT IT IS AND IT BRINGS THE STUDENTS CLOSER TO SUPPORTING OUR SPORT
PROGRAM.
just make them better and more fun
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
I think have school pep rallies are a fun way of showing our school
spirit and just having fun with each other.
"how else can we show our support for players and cheerleaders off
the court not only thata but high schoolint high school ith out a few
pep rallies to remember when you get older.
"
Pep rallies would really help bring back the school spirit that we need!
Spirit and pride in the school is extremely low right now and i think
pep rallies would help boost some enthusiasm.
i think that this school needes pep rallies because it gives us some
freedom from doing work and it gives us a chance to cheer for the sports
teams.
I THINK THAT WE SHOULD HAVE THEM ONLY IF WE CHEER FOR EACH OTHER.
Pep rallies have always been apart of the school year that students look
forward to. Its all about showing your school spirit, and having a
chance to get away from the books, and have fun with your fellow
classmates.
YES! it would be fun if we had the pep rallies we use to.
"It would be really cool for the seniors who are leaving and a
beginning for the fresh(women).
It could be an great experience for all of us as well."
Life is so BORING without them!!!!!
Please, no morning pep rallies! How can people be peppy if they just
rolled out of bed an hour ago?
OF COURSE! I mean we need to show our school spirit and we would be
able to realize how much fun Providence really is.
"our current ""pep rallies"" suck!!!! :)"
I tink that the school should have pep rallies so we can show our school
spirit.
no more morning pep rallies those were stupid. how can people be
happy in the morning.
I think that the pep rallies should ahve themes and that the classes
should have competition between eachother
i think it would be great if phs had pep rallies, but other schools
should be able to attend. i also think that this would increase the
numbers of phs chearleaders, because the girls would see that we do a
lot of stuff that requiers more chearleaders.
i think we should so that we can have days where we can have fun for at
least the end of the day. i think we deserve it even if some would
disagree with me.
The pep rallies should continue to be a competition between different
classes because that gets everyone motivated and excited for a pep
rally. Also there should be topics we go by like movie themes and things
because it was more fun that way! Not talking the whole time about
accomplishments and announcements because everyone loses interest!
I definitely think that we should have pep rallies because it gives us a
chance to let loose for a few minutes out of the many hours of school.
I think that we should be able to have pep rallies because they are fun
and it shows our school spirit.
pep rallies are an exciting way to show scool spirit.
"i THINK THAT WE SHOULD ALL CHEER FOR EACH OTHER AND NOT AGAINST
EACH OTHER.
"
"i believe it gives each class a chance to show their school
spirit and a chance for certain sports to get the recognition that they
deserve.
"
shows school spirit.
"We should have BETTER one's....More Spirit!!!
"
We need to show our appreaciation for athletics.
YES!
We need to show all the people in sports we are supporting them.
There has been less school spirit this year due to the fact that there
are no pep rallies.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They make school spirit more
apparent and help us be proud of where we go to school without spirit
we're nothing.
peprallies have been around for years and now that we have brought in
new members of administration traditions have been revoked from us. what
happened to keeping traditions??
I think our school should have Pep Rallies because it gets us really
excited about our achievements and makes it feel worth putting effort
and our time into a sport or club.
EVERY HIGH SCHOOL HAS PEP RALLIES, ITS ONE OF THE TRADITIONS HIGH
SCHOOLS HAVE, WHY SHOULDNT WE HAVE PEP RALLIES!??? WHO DOESNT WANT US TO
HAVE THEM ANYMORE??????
Yes of course. I think PHS needs major improvements. We pay so much for
this school and we do is work. We only have time before and after schoo
for our friends. We need to have some more fun stuff in this school to
make it interesting and fun. And more pep rallies could ne a big start.
Plus how else are we going to show are school spirit when we don't even
have blue and white day!
I think they are good for the student body and it help unit teh students
as a big family. We should be able to have fun and gain our school
spirit to the highest point possible.
"We should have more pep rallies because it gets the students
pumped. it good that at the end of a long day of school we can have fun
at a pep rally even if its only 30 minutes.
