Providence ended its 7th term with TAPPS finishing as REGIONAL FINALISTS. We also finished Runnerup in the Southwest tournament. We returned from last year 4 starters. During this season, Coach Wilson got his "300th win" in High School Volleyball

Providence ended its 6th term with TAPPS finishing as REGIONAL FINALISTS. We had 1 returning starter from the previous year. We also finished Runnerup in the Brewer tournament. We had a very young, but athletic team and we are looking forward to our near future.

Providence began its term with TAPPS with a bang. We had NINE returning players from the TCIL champions of the previous year, and so expectations were high. We were ranked as high as 5th in city (ending the season 7th). We also finished 1st in two tournaments, and 3rd place at the NEISD tourney.

1997-98 Season

Record: 33-7, District record: 6-0

We have had a great 1997 season . We have been ranked 3rd in city, beating 4 of the top 7 teams. We've also finished 1st and runner-up in 2 of the top tournaments in the city. And in the past 6 years, we have won 4 TCIL State Volleyball Championships. Although we are a private school, our program, with its emphasis on TECHNIQUE, DEFENSE, and FAST-PACE OFFENSES, has earned respect throughout the volleyball community, and has always faired well against the top 5A and 4A schools. We pride ourselves on graduating academically and socially competent young ladies, and some of them are talented enough to move on to the next level of volleyball.

This tournament was a benchmark of the season to come. Memorable matches against such teams as East Central and Alamo Heights, with the championship match against Lee H.S., contributed to a very exciting start for the Provets.
