2008 Homecoming & Reunion Weekend

The Providence campus is normally filled with students, laughter and learning during the day. By 5 p.m. on November 7, 2008 over 100 alumnae filled the halls and gym to kick-off their Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. As Sunday arrived, over 200 alumnae had attended at least one of the five events during the weekend. <more>

.

Friday night’s events began with a rousing volleyball game between the alumnae team and the Providence varsity team. The alumnae team won three out of the five games scheduled for play. Congratulations to Joyce Mendez ’83, Terry Sardo ’63, Barbara Wilkinson ’78, Stella Vela ’92, Veronika Gutierrez ’08 and Jennifer Guerrero ’98 for games well played!

Following the volleyball game, alumnae gathered in the Provet Cafι to gather their dinner and mingle. The classes of 1963, 1968 and 1978 met in first floor classrooms to reunite and create more memories. We had just over a hundred alumnae attend the Friday night event titled Girl’s Night Out.

The Athletic Department organized the 2nd Annual 5K run/walk. Although it was an early start from a late evening, we had alumnae come out to participate. Christina Rodriguez Brezovay ’97 placed second in her category. Congratulations to Christina and all other alumnae who ran or walked in support of an all-girl’s education!

Later in the early evening, over 70 alumnae attended a special Homecoming and Reunion Weekend Mass held at the Conventual Chapel of the Sacred Heart at Our Lady of the Lake University. A special thank you is extended to our alumnae Elaine Knodell Bir ’77, Theresa Gros Gold ’58, Irma Cardenas ’63, Terry Sardo ’63, and Jessica Flores ’08 for participating in this special mass. Mass was followed by the last event of the weekend, the Remember When…? dinner and dance which was held in the gym. We had 70 alumnae and guests attend. The dinner was catered by Catering by Celebrations and alumnae danced the night away to music provided by the Dan Michael Experience.
