| On Saturday, April 5, 2008 guests at the
fourth annual Providence Reaching for the Stars Gala enjoyed a magical
evening. The event, which was held on campus for the first time, raises
money each year to support the operating budget of the school. This
year’s gala provided a delightful evening of entertainment, shopping and
dining for the more than 300 friends of Providence who attended.
The buffet style dinner, prepared by Delicious Details Catering of Fredericksburg, offered a tempting selection of dishes sure to please everyone’s taste buds. The evening began with a mini concert performed by the Providence / Central Catholic Jazz Band, and the dance music was provided by the talented musicians in the Henry Brun and the Latin Playerz ensemble. The variety and quality of the music kept the dance floor full all evening with satisfied guests. This year’s event was not only the most successful financially in the school’s history with gross income of nearly one hundred thousand dollars, but it was also one of the most enjoyable. The weather for the evening couldn’t have been better and seemed tailor –made for the occasion. More than one guest commented, “You people really know how to throw a good party!” We at Providence Catholic School are most grateful to all our many supporters who made the evening possible and such a success.
